Gracing the shores of Otsego Lake since 1994, is Croquet Lodge, a place where time moves just a little slower.

 

Seeking a place of solitude in a welcoming, quiet part of Otsego Lake? This is it. A restful retreat, away from the hustle of the summer crowds. A magnificent place to call home for while.

 

Surrounded by natural beauty; Otsego Lake, the wooded hillside of Sleeping Lion Mountain behind you, and Glimmerglass State Park just a few steps through the forest on your left, there is not a more pristine spot on the lake to take summer refuge.

 

Croquet Lodge has everything on hand to make your vacation complete. The common areas are warm and open, creating many opportunities for activities with family and friends. The large living room with its soaring stone fireplace, invites you to gather for games, music, reading and movies. If you are more of the recreationist, head down to the finished, walk-out basement where you will find a rec room with a ping pong table, dart board and the convenience of a full bath and 2nd laundry room. You'll have lots of opportunity for friendly, competitive play here! If the great outdoors is more your style, simply leave your front door and cross the boundary into Glimmerglass State Park where you will find sandy beaches, picnic areas, historic Hyde Hall, and several interesting hiking trails. You may even find the old covered bridge. If you need a break from the group, you will love the bedroom set-up. Each room has its own private bath, lake views, and television.

 

Your kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessities. With lots of counter space and generous lighting throughout, (not to mention glorious lake views), cooking with, or for a group, has never been more pleasurable. The kitchen/dining area also has a wet bar with a bose docking station for your favorite tunes.

 

A relaxed evening spent on the grand covered deck, sipping your favorite cocktail, watching the sun set, or the stars twinkle over the water is sure to calm the soul!

 

There is a private dock at water's edge which serves as the launch point for swimming, canoeing, and kayaking, or for wetting your fishing line. (Sorry, due to shallow lake access, we cannot accommodate motor boats) but we provide a canoe and paddleboat for your use. Feel free to bring kayaks or any of your other favorite water toys!

 

Croquet Lodge is truly a safe and beautiful haven from which to create the summer vacation of your dreams.

 

There are a few house rules we have in place to allow for the enjoyment of all who live in this location. It is a quiet, residential portion of the lake, and we hope these rules work for your group.

1. Maximum of 8 guests. (Yes, there are more beds than that, but we are protecting the sanctity of the neighborhood.)

2. No parties or gatherings outside of reserved guests.

3. The croquet court which graces the front lawn is maintained to tournaments and regulation standards. We kindly ask that this area be used gently. There is an area behind the house to kick or toss a ball around.

4. No pets

5. No smoking 6. Please maintain the peaceful nature of this property by monitoring noise levels.
